Role: Lighting Designer & Architectural Design Team
Project Overview
Ongoing mixed-use development project comprising approximately 110 residential units, commercial spaces and sports facilities, developed in collaboration with architect Pier Paolo Perrotta and architect Irene De Cicco.
The project covers a total area of approximately 40,000 sqm and involves multiple user typologies and functional requirements.
Concept
The lighting concept is developed as a unifying design layer across different functions.
Rather than treating residential, commercial and sports areas as separate entities, lighting is used to create continuity, hierarchy and identity throughout the development, supporting both orientation and atmosphere.
Special attention is given to:
- transitions between public and private spaces
- visual comfort in residential environments
- identity and recognizability of shared and commercial areas
Design Approach
- Integrated lighting concept developed alongside architectural design
- Early-stage consideration of lighting to influence spatial proportions and material perception
- Preliminary studies focused on:
o pedestrian experience
o night-time safety
o long-term flexibility and maintenance
As the project is still under development, the lighting design remains a work in progress, evolving in parallel with architectural and functional decisions.
Role & Responsibilities
- Lighting concept development across multiple functions
- Architectural collaboration and design coordination
- Preliminary lighting studies and scenario definition
- Ongoing design development and client interface
This project represents the current phase of my professional practice, where lighting design, architecture and coordination converge within a complex and multidisciplinary framework.
